Numeracy and Literacy
This Teachers TV programme focuses on two lessons where teachers use ICT to aid the teaching of mathematics at Key Stage Two and Literacy in a reception class. A primary teacher in Kent develops a lesson using free Interactive Teaching Programmes from the National Strategy in her work on pentagons and diagonals.
Working alongside mathematics specialist Darren Ellsum she creates a PowerPoint of polygons so children can work on an investigation in pairs on the computer. The programme also observes a reception class teacher using 2create from the 2simple software tool to develop storytelling skills with children who are new to ICT in school.
