GCSE Student Booster - Images and Sound (Pre-event materials)
In this online session you will learn about how images and sound are represented by a computer, the session is aimed at GCSE students. The event discusses how the media is represented but also how to calculate file sizes. By attending this event, you will:
- describe how an image is represented as a series of pixels
- explain the term Metadata
- describe how colour depth and resolution impact image quality and file size.
- explain how sound can be sampled and stored digitally
- discuss the effect of sample rate, duration and bit depth on sound quality and file size
