Simon Brilliant

This video resource, from the Teachers TV series Hard to Teach, features Inspector Clare Gillies who makes a return visit to secondary maths teacher Simon Brilliant, to see if he has maintained or improved his teaching standards since her last visit three years ago.

In July 2007 Simon Brilliant, a new mathematics teacher, was observed by Clare who offered advice on how to improve his teaching, he then received tailored CPD support and communications coaching before putting the advice into practice and being classed as good. With three years further experience of mathematics teaching to draw on, Clare observes him once again to see if he has made the leap from good to outstanding.
