Mathematics in Primary Schools

This collection of five publications, from the Mathematics Centre at the University of Chichester, is a particular offering for teachers of children in primary schools who wish to widen and enrich mathematics in their classrooms and encourage students to carry out some of their own mathematical work. Although the accounts are based on the work of Marion Bird with students aged seven to eleven years, the series would make an excellent resource for all concerned with mathematics education. In this series Marion uses simple starting points which are within the reach of all teachers and students and manageable in all classrooms. She offers teachers encouragement as well as a wide repertoire of actions they might take and responses they might expect from students.
