STEM clubs resources
This collection contains a vast array of STEM-related activity resources that are suitable for use in a STEM Club setting. The resources included in this collection contain long, short and one-off activities.
- One-off activities are completed in one session. They are highly engaging and can have a real wow factor.
- Short projects are any activity that takes club members two to three sessions to complete. Many of the shorter projects will include demonstrations or experiments that can be used as one-off activities.
- Long projects are activities that take half a term or more to complete and might be considered a long project. Completing a long project can be very rewarding, especially if there is an award or a prize involved.

STEM Club Activity: Moving House
This activity sheet for students will enable them to demonstrate the idea of reinforced materials and conclude which is the best to choose for a specific task, in this case constructing buildings resistant to earthquakes and high winds. The work of a structural engineer is also profiled.

This activity challenges stereotypes by asking students to draw and describe an engineer and then requiring them to explain their drawings together with discussing stereotypes. There are career profiles and further activities for teachers to pursue with their students.
STEM Club Support: the Engineering Message
This resource aims at raising students' awareness of what engineers do and how the profession contributes to the world. The key activity for students is to define and discuss engineering as a career. There are also two case studies to use.
