Maths in the body

This book is full of practical tasks that focus on the human body through topics such as archeaology, art, criminal investigations and athletic records. In many topics, students collect, present and analyse their own data - engaging even the most reluctant students in this subject area. Students solve crimes by analysing the relationship between length of stride and body height, collect their own data to investigate Leonardo da Vinci's 'Vitruvian man' proportions and use linear modelling to predict future 100 m sprint records.
